Getting Started: Dataplates in XOi Mobile
Roles Admin, Job/User Editor, Job Editor, and User have permission to perform this task.
When working through workflow steps you may be asked to take an image of a dataplate. When you provide a dataplate in these steps XOi uses a feature called OCR(Optical Character Recognition). OCR scans the image and pulls out the make/model/serial # if it is readable in the image.
Capturing a dataplate image starts with the same steps as taking a general image. It is important to note when this icon is on the step XOi is expecting you to provide a dataplate and will use OCR. If you provide a dataplate on a step that does not have this icon on it, OCR will not happen and it will be treated as a general image.
To begin select the + next to the dataplate image step.
You can either take a live photo or upload it from your gallery. It is important your image is not blurry and serial/model/make are in the image.
Select Use Photo. If you are using Android, you will select OK.
If you provided an unreadable image or a non-datatplate image you will be provided with a warning. It will give you the option to retake the image, manually enter make/model/serial, or confirm it is not a dataplate but you would like to add it anyways. If you choose to move forward with the image it will go into the Not Detected section under Dataplates where you have the ability to manually put in the make/model/serial.
If it is a readable image it will begin to process. You can find it processing under In Progress in Dataplates under Content. The image will automatically process but you can speed up the process by manually adding make/model/serial using the pencil button.
If any image has been processed as successful it will move to the Successful section in Dataplates. You will be able to review and edit (if needed) the make/model/serial.
Also once a dataplate is processed whether it is Successful or Not Detected a new area will appear called Equipment, under the header area. You will be able to review the Dataplate and image here and can enter into the Dataplate section by selecting View All Equipment.
