Navigating Dashboard Chart Actions
Dashboards allow you to review the data being collected in completed jobs, identify the most common types of equipment your technicians encounter, and manage your technician's productivity.
Within the Dashboard area, reports have been broken out into different sections, each dedicated to specific types of data. All User Roles can be permitted in the Dashboard tab.
Depending on the chart type there will be actions that can be taken on the upper right-hand corner of the chart.
Chart actions can include:
- Expose Underlying Data
- Download
- Opening a Related Page
- Managing Columns
- Filtering
- Sorting
- Navigating pages
= Click on the 3 dots icon to expose additional options (will vary depending on chart/table):
Expose Underlying Data
Displays the dataset powering the chart or table for further exploration. Once the underlying data table is opened, it can be treated as a standard data table with all filtering, sorting, and exporting options available.
Download
Export the chart to a CSV, XLXS, or Image file. For non-table charts, the aggregation rather than the underlying dataset will be exported.
Email the chart as a CSV or XLSX file. For non-table charts, the aggregation rather than the underlying dataset will be emailed.
Other icons you could see on the tables/charts are:
= The hyperlink icon will open a related link in a new tab.
= The gear icon will open up a modal that allows you to make one-time adjustments to the table. In the modal, you can show and hide columns, reorder the columns, and rename the columns. Changes made are not saved permanently.
Hide a column from the table by unchecking the column name.
Click and drag on the handle on the left of the column name to move or rearrange the columns within the list.
Rename the columns by clicking on the column name to type.
Note: Make sure to click inside the pop-up (gray area) before exiting to save your changes. These changes will only stay while you are still in the dashboard. If you are to leave and come back the tables will reset.
= The funnel icon will allow you to filter that particular table independently from the entire dashboard. All table columns will be filterable.
Fill out the filter options:
- Column: The column you would like to filter by.
- Operator: What do you want the value in the column to equal, not equal, contain, etc...
- Value: What you are searching for. Depending on the operator you choose you will manually type in the value or choose from a list.
You may add multiple filters to a container by selecting the + Add filter button.
Select the x to remove a filter.
The download icon allows you to export a table in a CSV or XLXS file format directly to your computer or email it. For pivot tables, the file will output the aggregation rather than the full underlying dataset.
Additional Table Actions
Clicking on a column will sort the table by that column in descending order (A-Z). Selecting the column again with sort the table by that column in ascending order (Z-A). Clicking for a third time will remove the sort.
All columns are expandable. Hover to the edge of the column, click, hold, and then drag to extend the width.
In the bottom right-hand corner of the table, you can move from page to page with the arrows or by entering a number.
Additional Pie and Chart Actions
Hovering over each category inside the chart will present a pop-out with more details.
Clicking on a category in the legend will remove/add it to the chart.
Clicking on a category inside the chart will filter the underlying dataset table based on the category selected.
