Creating Reports in Report Builder
While XOi has provided you with core and premium* dashboards, you can also use the Report Builder to build and customize reports, pull data, and help with decision-making.
All User Roles can be permitted to use the Report Builder.
To create your own report click + New Report in the top right corner.
A pop-up will appear where you will need to select a dataset to get started. Each dataset has a name and description providing relevant information that may be valuable for specific use cases.
Select A Dataset
Datasets are tables of data that determine what you can include in your report. Each row represents a specific item or event, and each column holds different details about those items or events.
Click on a dataset name to see a preview of the data table. Columns and their descriptions are listed on the left and a sample of the data is displayed on the right.
To start building a report, click the Select [Dataset Name] in the bottom right corner of the dataset pop-up.
A few notes on datasets:
- Datasets cannot be combined or joined with one another.
- Only one dataset can be used at a time.
- If you can't find the dataset you need, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
Changing a Dataset
If you've selected the wrong dataset or need to change it, click on Edit Data in the top right-hand corner.
The dataset preview pop-up will reappear. Click the arrow left of the dataset title to see the dataset list once again and make your selection.
Naming Your Report
All new reports are titled “Untitled Report” when first created.
To rename your report, simply double-click on the title located in the top right-hand corner. Once you've entered your desired name, click anywhere outside the input area to save your changes.
Create and Manage Views
A view is a tab within a report, giving you the option to filter and sort the same dataset in different ways. Each view corresponds to a single table or graph. Each report can have multiple views but ALL views within a report use the same dataset that was selected for the report.
Click the + button to the left of the first view tab. A new tab and view will appear next to the existing view tab(s). The first view for a new report is titled “View 1” when first the report is created.
Click the arrow to the right of a view’s title to duplicate, rename, or delete the view.

Duplicate - Creates an exact copy of the selected view as a new view and tab with the word "Copy" appended to the title.
Rename - Allows edits to the view name by typing in the view tab name. Once you've entered your desired name, click anywhere outside the input area to save your changes.
Delete - Immediately removes the view. Option not available if the report contains only one view.
Click, hold, and drag a view tab title to rearrange the view order. Drop the view in its location once in the desired order.
To create a view with a different dataset you will need to create a new report with a different dataset selection.
Once you have created your basic report you can begin customizing your report and building charts.
Save/Save As
Make sure to always save your report. If you try to exit the report without saving you will be given a warning message.
Press Save in the top right-hand corner and choose either Save or Save As.
Save: Will overwrite the current changes you have right now.
Save As: Will create a copy of the report and can be renamed
