Enriched Data: What is it?

XOi can provide valuable details about your equipment, such as its age, refrigerant type, and filter specifications. To do this, XOi uses the equipment’s Make, Model, and Serial Number to retrieve additional information, which we call “enriched data.”

This enriched data gives you the critical details you need to better manage your equipment and plan for the future.

Note: Enriched data is available only to Premium* package clients based on contract terms.

How Enrichment Works

When Make, Model, and Serial Number information is captured, XOi processes it to find enriched data. In most cases, this data will appear in your XOi dashboards within about 4 hours.

Keep in mind:

• Not all enriched data is available for every piece of equipment.
• Complete Make, Model, and Serial Numbers are required.
  • • For example, determining the equipment’s age requires both Make and Serial Number.
• Identifying the equipment type requires the Make and Model Number.

You can access this enriched equipment data directly in your XOi Premium dashboards.

Validate Equipment Information

As part of the enrichment process, XOi also validates the accuracy of the Make, Model, and Serial Number. If any errors are detected and corrected, they will automatically update in your dashboards.

• For example, if the manufacturer is initially recorded as “OTHER,” XOi can often use the Model Number to correctly identify it, such as “Daikin.”

Merging Duplicate Equipment

Using our enrichment validation process, XOi identifies and combines equipment records with exact matches across the full Make, Model, and Serial Number (MMS).

Validation as the Foundation for Merging

As part of our ongoing process, XOi validates the MMS information captured from dataplate images. This ensures that identifiers follow expected formats and manufacturer-specific patterns. Validation examples include:

• Make Correction: Identifying and correcting OCR errors based on model number patterns (e.g., changing “OTHER” to “Daikin” for specific model series).

• Character Correction: Fixing single-character OCR errors that could cause duplicates (e.g., correcting a “U” to a “V” in a serial number).

Automatic Merging of Identical Equipment

After validation, XOi automatically merges equipment records with an exact match for the validated Make, Model, and Serial Number. An “exact match” means all three fields—Make, Model, and Serial Number—must be identical.

Impact on Client Data

• Potential Decrease in Equipment Count: Clients may see a reduction in their total equipment count as duplicate records are consolidated. This change will be reflected across all dashboards.
• Improved Data Quality: While the equipment count may decrease, the accuracy and overall quality of equipment data will significantly improve.
• No Direct User Notification: Users will not receive alerts when equipment records are merged. Updated counts and merged records will appear automatically in the platform.
• Data Retention: Information from merged records is preserved and accessible within the new, combined equipment record.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why don't I see enriched data for all my equipment?

• A: This may be because the Make, Model, or Serial Number is incomplete. XOi may not yet support the specific manufacturer or equipment type.  

Q: How often is equipment information enriched?

• A: Equipment information is typically enriched very quickly, and the results are available in your dashboards within about 4 hours.
