Getting Started: Report Builder
While XOi has provided you with core and premium* dashboards, you can also use the Report Builder to build and customize reports, pull data, and help with decision-making.
All User Roles can be permitted to use the Report Builder.
Navigation
There are three areas within the report builder:
- All Reports: Displays all reports created for your organization.
- Starred: Displays only the reports that have been starred.
- Built In: Displays pre-built reports created by XOi

Creating Reports
You can create your own reports by utilizing the datasets provided by XOi.
Click + New Report on the top right corner to begin.
Below are features you will utilize as you build your reports:
Dataset(s): Datasets are tables of data that determine what you can include in your report.
Naming: Name your report so you and others can easily understand the data they are reviewing.
Managing Views: A view is a tab within a report. Each view corresponds to a single table or graph. Each report can have multiple views but ALL views within a report use the same dataset that was selected for the report.
Saving: Once created or edited save your changes.
Deleting: If needed, you may delete reports that you have built.

Customizing Reports
Once reports are created you can customize them to show the data in the best visualization.
Below are the different ways you can customize:
Filtering: Filters allow you to focus on the specific information needed from large amounts of data.
Sorting: Sorting allows you to specify the order of the data based on a certain column.
Columns: Choose what columns of data you see in the starting table and underlying data.
Grouping: Columns placed in the group by section will determine the different rows in the report.
Values: Display different types of values (COUNT, AVERAGE, SUM) based on the chosen columns.
Breakdown: View the breakdown of a particular measure by category.
Expand Underlying Data: Show the data that is populating in the table/chart.

Charts
All reports will start as tables of data. You may turn that table of data into different types of charts to give you a better visualization of the data you are trying to communicate.
The types of charts available are:
Table - view all data or grouped data in tabular format.
Line chart - view data over a continuous spectrum.
Bar chart - view data by category.
Pie chart - view how individual values contribute to a whole.
KPI - view a single “Key Performance Indicator” metric.
Area chart - view a combination of the line chart and bar chart to show how one or more groups’ numeric values change over time.
Heatmap -view values for a main variable of interest across two variables as a grid of colored squares.
Bar Funnel chart -view the flow of users through a business or sales process.
Scatter chart - view the relationship between variables using dots.

Exporting
All reports are exportable as CSV or XLSX files. There are two options for exporting.
Export Now: Immediately export and download your current report view.
Scheduled Exports: Schedule a report to be sent as an email attachment to the email address(es) of your choosing on a certain date and time.
